Procedure

1. Looked up the diameter of the earth on Google (12,742 Km)
2. Looked up the distance between the earth and the moon on google ( 238,900Km)
3. Calculated the ratio of the the distance to the diameter
4. Measured the diameter of the paper earth
5. Calculated the what the distance that would be needed to represent the same ratio between our paper earth and our paper moon
6. Stepped out to the hall and used the tape to measure the distance the calculated distance between the paper earth and moon.
7. Held up the paper earth and moon and took a photo.

Modeling the distance between the Earth and Earth's Moon

GOAL:
Create a model that (more or less) accurately represents the distance between the Earth and Earth's moon using small-scale paper cutouts.

CALCULATIONS:

**Step 1: Find connecting factor to use between actual and model objects.**
-Earth Diameter (Google): 12.7k km
-Distance between Earth and Earth's Moon (Google): 384.9k km
-Number of Earths that fit with in the distance between E&M: 30.31x

**Step 2: Calculate scaled distance between models.**
-Paper Earth Diameter: 19.5 cm
→Calculated distance in cm between paper earth and moon:
--30.31 x 19.5 cm = 591.045 cm or 5.91045 m
